Description of the problem | The shifter in the transmission broke. Had a licensed mechanic at christian brothers to run a diagnostic test on it for warranty reasons. He found out that this is a frequent problem with these cars and informed me that there was a manufacture alert on this part. To replace this one part the entire transmission must be replaced. There is less than 100,000 miles on the car. Giving an alert does not rectify the problem nor does it limit the dangers. A person is unable to shift the gears while driving. I feel this to be extremely dangerous. Chevrolet should be responsible for replacing this part. |
