Description of the problemThe key to my ignition gets stuck when i attempt to turn the engine off. It takes almost 30 minutes to an hour for the ignition to release the key. In addition, it happens every time i try to take the key out of the ignition. I went to the dealership in regards to the issue as well as called general motors directly. I have not received any results from both options. I have been researching this issue in which i found that i am not the only person who is having this trouble. Almost every one with a camaro has a problem getting their key out of the ignition. Not only is my battery draining and i am having to get the battery jumped, but it is very unsafe. My car is my only means of transportation in which i have to drive one hour plus to work everyday as well as take my child to school. The key gets stuck at all times. I am at risk for having my car stolen and even worse being stranded, as well as my child, trying to get the ignition to release the key. It is very draining having to wait long hours to get the key out of the car. I am also paranoid that the car will be stolen when having to leave the car for 30 plus minutes just to come back and have the key released. This is a pressing issue as it is definitely a manufacturers issue. It is interfering with me when i go to the grocery store, work, my child's school, and every other place that i have to travel to daily. The issue presented itself at the beginning of january and tends to only have gotten worst.
