Description of the problemI was driving down the highway at 55 mph and the car started to lose acceleration. I pressed on the gas and nothing happened. I started slowing very quickly and i pulled off to the side where eventually the car completely shut down all on its own and the battery light came on the dash. I turned the ignition to off and restarted the car. I was able to keep going without another incident. The next day on my way home from work the same thing happened again. My check engine light was on at the time for which i just had my fuel cap replaced because it was not locking at all. After a few days my check engine light has gone off. I am seriously concerned about this as this car is my main means of transportation back and forth to work which is an hour drive for me. I just recently purchased this car (within the last 3 weeks) from the ford dealership in tillamook or and of course they did not report any of these issues.
