Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the transmission locked up on his vehicle. While making a right turn, he stated that the front half of his vehicle stopped, but the rear continued to move. The speed was unknown. The vehicle rolled over three times down an embankment and was destroyed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three occasions and they stated that the computer control transmission system failed. The vehicle downshifts and locks into gear by itself. The failure began after a recall was issued by the manufacturer. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was the only occupant in the vehicle and was not injured. A police report was filed. Gm does not accept responsibility for the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000. |
