Description of the problem | Takata recall i have a 2008 chev avalanche which has a air bag inflator recall issued over 3 years ago. Importance of repairs were stated as age of vehicle and region where it resides. I bought my avalanche new, 11 years ago, and have always lived in florida. I recently had my dashboard replaced due to cracking as a result of, according to gm, 'heat and humidity' in florida. However what seems to be a very important safety issue for passengers (wife and grandkids) doesn't seem to get priority attention. If in fact takata and gm believe that age and humid regions are primary factors which determine the degradation time of air bag inflators and increase the possibility of injury or death then my vehicle should be high on the recall list. May 27, 2016 recall issued and still no action. |
