Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2009 cadillac escalade. While driving at an unknown speed and also while in park, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact had to apply force to the steering wheel in order to steer the vehicle. The "service steering" message displayed across the message board. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the serial data gateway module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to part discontinuity. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the part was no longer in production. The failure mileage was 138,000. |
