Description of the problem | Upon reading of a high number of failures and excessive wear on those yet to fail with under 50k miles on them, i check the "cam follower" inside the high pressure fuel pump of my 2007 audi a4. Sure enough, it exhibits signs of excessive wear and well on it's way to failure - and expensive repairs and replacement parts. The dealership refuses to replace the cam follower, a $50 dollar part until it fails and causes damage to the engine's cam and high pressure fuel pump. Audi has issued a technical service bulletin on the problem. I only have 6 months of warranty to go. Upon failure, repairs are approx $1,100. 00. |
