Description of the problemI have had many episodes with this car. The first one, i was stopped at a stop sign with a car ahead of, and behind me, when i released the brake, i tried to move forward, and it felt like i got hit from behind, the car lurched forward. Another time, my husband was backing out of a parking spot, and he hit a telephone in front of him. He is unclear what happened. We had damage to the front of the car which we had to repair. Another time, i was driving in economy mode in traffic, when i released the brake, and started to accelerate, the car didn't move initially, then after a second or two, it raced forward with my foot off the accelerator, and i hit the vehicle in front of me. Only my car was damaged. The dealer and acura corporate then inspected it and i was told "nothing was wrong". Many times now, while driving the car, it seems that the engine shifts into neutral while i'm driving it. If i continue to accelerate, it will be stuck for a few seconds, then propels me forward with a jerk. I was trying to do a lane change last week, and the car didn't respond to my foot on the accelerator, like the engine was "stuck". I was lucky there wasn't a car behind me, because i changed lanes, then abruptly slowed down. I treated it like a hydroplane, i didn't accelerate, and the engine returned to normal functioning. Later that day, i was driving toward a toll booth, and again, i felt the engine shift and it wouldn't respond to my foot on the accelerator. This car is unsafe. I do not feel as if i can drive it safely. I am stuck in a lease for two more years. I would really like them to acknowledge transmission problems and get it repaired.
